普通の人は「子供」のことを「未成熟な大人」と定義して、理解しています。これは「子供」よりも「大人」のほうが優れているという考え方ですよね。でも、キース・ジョンストンは、全く逆に考えるんです。
大人とは、委縮した子供である
本質的には「子供」と「大人」の違いなんてないってことです。人間は、年齢が低いころは自分自身であり、自分らしく振舞います。でも年齢が高くなってくると「他人の目に映る自分」をつくりはじめ、自分らしさから離れていくという、ただそれだけのことなのだと思います。
